Tacis CBC Action Programme 2003 Project EuropeAid/120944/C/SV/UA - Technical Assistance for the Lower Dniester River Basin Management Planning
Spring expedition 2007 (15-25 May)
In the framework of Tacis project a work for the fauna and flora inventarization is carrying out in the lower part on Dniestr river on the territory of future "Nizhnednestrovsky" National Park.
Entomological investigations are provided by Sergey Suchkov (Melitopol', Ukraine) and Elena Dyatlova (Odessa, Ukraine). Entomological expeditions were organised in July and August 2006 and in May 2007. In spring expedition 2007 an amateur Sergey Kozlov participated.
In odonatological point of view the territory of future National Park is interesting by the presence of Erythromma lindenii and Anax imperator protected in Ukraine on the national level. Among species protected on European level Gomphus flavipes occurs in the lower part of Dniestr river. Calopteryx splendens, declining in Europe during last decades, also is very numerous here. In general, 32 species of dragonflies were recorded on the territory of future national park from the period 2002-2007 by Elena Dyatlova.
During spring expedition in May 2007 12 species of Odonata were observed: 7 of them belong to the suborder Anisoptera (Aeshnidae – 4 species; Libellulidae – 3 species) and 5 of them to the suborder Zygoptera ( Coenagrionidae – 3 species; Calopterygidae – 1 species; Platycnemidae – 1 species).
