Threatened dragonflies in Ukraine
Dragonflies are important indicatiors of environmental health, which reacts to changes the quality of the waters where larvae live as well as the structure of the habitats (Schindler et al., 2003). Therefore, the global destruction and pollution of the natural habitats causes to inclusion increasingly more of dragonfly species in the national Red Lists. Recently, the threatened species amounts more than 20% of the total dragonfly species of Ukraine (see Table).
