Distribution: Widespread but less common than E. viridulum
Habitat: Calm or standing richly-vegetated waters, such as ponds, ditches, canals, usually with floating leaves of water-lilies (Nuphar, Nymphaea, Nymphoides) or pondweeds (Potamogeton) (Dijkstra, 2006).
Flight period in the SW Ukraine: Middle May – Middle August
