Distribution: Widespread but generally localized, although often common where found.
Habitat: Standing or slow-flowing waters with rich riparian and aquatic vegetation, such as reedy canals, marshes, oxbows and coastal grazing marshes (Dijkstra, 2006). In the SW Ukraine recorded from artificial ponds, canals, lakes and small flowing rivers.
Flight period in the SW Ukraine: End of April – Middle of June
